Principal's Message

Welcome to our Old Mission School website!

With great joy and abundant passion, I have belonged to the Old Mission School community for over 36 years. My journey at our Catholic school began as a first grader, then teacher, and now as a principal. With a grateful heart, I recognize and appreciate the Catholic education I received. Now I am humbled and blessed to work with a dedicated, energetic, and faith-filled faculty and staff to serve our hardworking and talented students and their gracious families. Together we work to fulfill our mission - developing socially responsible citizens who are spiritually enriched, academically empowered, and morally accountable for their actions.

Located in the heart of San Luis Obispo, our Old Mission School is a community of faith, learning, and serving. In partnership with parents, our pastor, School Advisory Council, educators and administration strive to provide an excellent comprehensive education for each and every child who enters our doors. We help our scholars achieve our School-wide Learning Expectations: “I know and live in the spirit of Jesus,” “I am a self-directed learner and strive for personal excellence,” and “I serve the local and global community with honor and dignity.” OMS prepares our students to be successful in high school and beyond as well as Christian leaders of our world.

For 147 years, Old Mission School has built a reputation for a wonderful community, rich academics, and solid Christian values. We recognize parents as primary educators who play an integral part in the education process. Communication and collaboration between home and school are key components of our scholars’ success. OMS provides a safe, nurturing environment that welcomes and is inclusive of all families.
